In December 2015, Michael Pope, a 51-year-old resident of Fairbanks, Alaska, was reported missing after last being heard from on November 25. On December 4, his body was discovered on his property, where he had been constructing a cabin. An investigation revealed that Pope had died from a fatal gunshot wound.
