On May 4, 2024, in Fairbanks, Alaska, 28-year-old First Lieutenant Brandon Keyon Moultrie was fatally shot while outside the International Hotel and Bar. Moultrie, a logistical platoon leader with the 1st Battalion, 52nd Aviation Regiment, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Wainwright, was an unintended victim during an altercation in the bar's parking lot.
