Black / African American male Brandon Keyon Moultrie, 28, was spending the early hours of Saturday, May 4, 2024, in downtown Fairbanks when violence outside the Big I Bar erupted into gunfire. According to police, a fistfight broke out in the parking lot around 1:30 a.m. Witness accounts and video reviewed by investigators indicated that two men had been provoking fights; when one of them was knocked down, another produced a handgun and began firing into the lot.
