On April 27, 2024, 16-year-old Jaishawn Overstreet, a resident of Gwinnett County, was found murdered at the Ridgecrest Apartments on Roper Hill Road in Gainesville, Georgia. The incident occurred in the mid-afternoon when the Gainesville Police responded to a shooting report. Overstreet had allegedly traveled to Gainesville for what investigators described as criminal activity.
