On May 4, 2024, Escondarious "GB MONT" La'montay Pinkney, a 23-year-old African American male from Dothan, Alabama, was fatally shot in Blakely, Georgia. The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. in an open lot situated between North Main Street and North Avenue. Upon arrival, Blakely Police officers discovered Escondarious suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Early Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
