On May 18, 2024, Alasia Franklin, a 21-year-old senior at Kennesaw State University (KSU), was fatally shot on the university's campus. The incident occurred at the Austin Residence Complex, where Franklin was a resident.
The suspect identified in the shooting is Samuel Harris, also 21 years old, from Cairo, Georgia. Harris was arrested on the same day of the incident, approximately 10-12 miles from the scene, along Bentley Road.
