In a quiet townhouse community near Kennesaw, Georgia, the life of 35-year-old Navy Thuy Vo came to a tragic end on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Authorities discovered Vo and a man, identified as 58-year-old Michael Le, deceased inside a home on Heritage Park Circle in what was determined to be a murder-suicide.
Cobb County police investigators believe that Le shot and killed Vo before turning the gun on himself.
Family members who were not present at the time of the shooting are believed to have called 911 upon returning to the residence. The incident shocked the otherwise peaceful, gated neighborhood located near Barrett Parkway and Town Center Mall.
Neighbors described Vo and Le as a couple who owned a nail salon and had recently traveled to Vietnam. Some believed they may have been newlyweds. Two middle-school-aged children also resided in the home. Authorities assured the public that there was no ongoing risk as the event was contained to the individuals involved. Prior to this incident, police had no record of any calls to the home, and the area was considered to be a very quiet one.
An obituary for Navy Thuy Vo confirmed her passing on June 18, 2014. No further suspects were identified, and no arrests were made as the case was concluded to be a murder-suicide.
