On Sunday, June 2, 2024, Timothy Hunt, a 27-year-old resident of Naylor, Georgia, was shot and killed at a home located on Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Lakeland, Lanier County, Georgia. The incident prompted an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) at the request of the Lakeland Police Department.
