She had last been seen around July 13, and relatives later said they received a text the next day indicating she was in Macon.
Her family reported her missing on July 14, and as the search stretched on, the silence around her became more alarming because loved ones said it was unlike her to be away without checking in, especially with her children.
That search ended in a grim and heartbreaking way on July 19, 2024, when Atlanta police were called to the West End MARTA station at 680 Lee Street SW after a report of an unresponsive person in a vehicle. Officers found her body in the back seat of a car in the parking lot after the vehicle drew attention because of a foul odor. What had already felt ominous quickly became devastating. The discovery was not just shocking because of where she was found, but because it came after nearly a week of uncertainty, fear, and unanswered questions for the people who loved her.
