On July 20, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Oakwood, Georgia, resulting in the death of Shontae Pratt, a 36-year-old man from Houston, Mississippi.

The incident took place in the afternoon when Oakwood police officers were called to a home on Aster Place in the Prescott neighborhood off McEver Road.
