In the early afternoon of June 8, 2023, 62-year-old Lasanta McGill was in the 1900 block of 7th Street, Northwest in Washington, D.C., when he became the unintended victim of a violent altercation. At approximately 1:07 pm, police responded to reports of a shooting in the area and discovered McGill suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
