In the early morning hours of August 3, 2023, the life of 42-year-old Eboné Lavender, a female resident of Southwest Washington, DC, was tragically cut short. At approximately 2:26 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the sound of gunshots in the unit block of Forrester Street, SW.
