Princess Aura Tolliver was a 31-year-old woman from Tallahassee, Florida, remembered by her grandmother as an outgoing, sweet, and lovable person. A former Leon High School student, she worked at Florida State University, first as a security aide and later as a parking attendant. Her family described her as a hard worker who was very close to her three sisters. In January 2023, she was visiting Central Florida for the weekend to have a good time with her friends.

In the early morning of January 16, 2023, Princess and her friends were leaving a concert by the rapper Jackboy at a venue in Sanford called The Barn. They were passengers in a Sprinter van that was part of the rapper's entourage. Around 2:20 a.m., near the intersection of Rinehart Road and County Road 46A, occupants of another vehicle opened fire on the van. Princess was killed in the attack. Five other women in the van were also shot but survived their injuries.

Investigators quickly determined the shooting was not a random act of violence. The van carrying Princess and her friends was following an SUV that Jackboy was in, and authorities concluded that the rapper was the intended target. The motive appeared to be a high-profile, public feud between Jackboy and another rapper, Kodak Black. Detectives believe the shooters mistakenly thought Jackboy was in the Sprinter van. Princess and the other victims were innocent bystanders with no connection to the dispute.

A 13-month investigation involving more than 120 search warrants led to a series of arrests in February 2024. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office announced that thirteen people had been taken into custody. The suspects were identified as members of a criminal street gang known as "On Top Forever" (OTF), a subset of the Crips. Authorities stated the gang was looking to gain "street validation" by targeting Jackboy.

In March 2024, a Seminole County Grand Jury issued indictments against twelve of the arrested individuals. The charges included first-degree premeditated murder for the death of Princess Tolliver, attempted first-degree premeditated murder for the five surviving victims, and charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act.

The case against the indicted suspects is now proceeding through the court system. A fourteenth suspect, Trevon Law, remains wanted by authorities on charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and racketeering. He is described as extremely dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
