An evening of music and entertainment turned tragic for Charles A. Williams Jr., a 27-year-old Black male from Omaha, Nebraska, on August 10, 2024. He was fatally shot in the parking lot of the I-29 Speedway in Pacific Junction, Iowa, just as an outdoor concert was about to begin. The event, which had included a car show and drag racing, was shattered by the violence that erupted at approximately 8:59 p.m.
