On the evening of August 10, 2024, Marcus L. Johnson, a 28-year-old Black male from Omaha, Nebraska, was fatally shot in Pacific Junction, Iowa. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the I-29 Speedway, just as an outdoor concert was scheduled to begin.
