Yamil Medina Villegas, an 18-year-old resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, was fatally shot on February 20, 2023, in West Palm Beach. The incident occurred at Howard Park, located at 1302 Parker Avenue, around 11:09 p.m.
According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, Villegas met two other individuals at a parking lot just minutes before the shooting.
Detectives have confirmed that this was not a random attack, but rather a targeted shooting, indicating that there was some type of relationship between the suspects and the victim.
Villegas was found shot and killed in his vehicle, a black Hyundai Elantra, at the park. The two men involved in the incident fled the scene on foot, heading north from the park. Witnesses reported seeing the assailants running away at the time of the shooting.
The police are seeking any information that might lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects. A $3,000 reward has been offered by Crime Stoppers for tips that could result in an arrest. Yamil Medina Villegas was born on August 10, 2004, and his funeral services were provided by All County Funeral Home & Crematory. As of the current date, there has been no reported arrest or resolution in the case.
