On March 30, 2023, 16-year-old Layla Danielle Silvernail was found shot and critically injured on the side of SE 183rd Avenue near Forest Lakes Park in Ocklawaha, Florida. She was transported to HCA Hospital, where she remained in critical condition until her death on April 4, 2023.
