On April 7, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Navarre, Florida, resulting in the death of 43-year-old Toby Hill. The incident took place just after 1 p.m. in the 2600 block of Salamanca Street.
Upon arrival, deputies found Toby Hill with a gunshot wound, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Aubrey Luker, was believed to be in a nearby building. To apprehend Luker, SWAT was deployed.
Luker eventually surrendered near the 8200 block of Country Bay Boulevard. He was charged with first-degree murder, and additional charges were pending. Luker was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail at 7:57 p.m. and is being held on no bond.
The investigation and arrest were carried out swiftly, with Luker's surrender marking the end of the immediate danger posed by the suspect. The case is now in the judicial process, with Luker facing serious charges related to the fatal shooting of Toby Hill.
