Avery McKnight, aged 19, was tragically murdered on December 3, 2015, in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident took place on Odessa Street, known locally as "O Block," which was at the time an area marked by ongoing gang violence between rival groups. Avery, also known by his nickname "Shug," was a member of the gang called 187, and his death was a part of a larger cycle of retaliatory gang attacks.
