On June 30, 2023, 20-year-old Bryson Leverette was fatally shot in the Skyline Hills area of Lady Lake, Florida. The incident occurred around 12:44 a.m. when Leverette and another victim were leaving a home at 104 Caroline Avenue. They were approached by a group of armed suspects who used several firearms to attack them. Leverette was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspects involved in the shooting fled the area in unknown vehicles, and despite the immediate response from the Lady Lake Police Department, no arrests have been made in the case. The police performed life-saving measures at the scene but were unable to save Leverette.
Since Leverette's death, his family has been grieving his loss. His girlfriend gave birth to their son after his death, adding to the family's heartache. Leverette's mother continues to mourn his violent and unsolved death, seeking closure and justice.
In an effort to solve the case, the Lady Lake Police Department recently reassigned the investigation to Detective James Dunagan, a seasoned officer with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. Detective Dunagan, who previously worked on notable cases such as the 2006 disappearance of Trenton Duckett, has expressed his commitment to finding a resolution for Leverette's family.
