On July 19, 2023, Jonteira Morton, a 33-year-old Black woman, was fatally shot in Boynton Beach, Florida. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. at a residence on Northwest 13th Avenue, where she and a male companion, both experiencing homelessness, were staying.
