On August 26, 2023, at approximately 10:03 a.m., Pembroke Pines Police Officers responded to a shooting incident at 601 SW 68 Terrace in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Upon arrival, they found Horace Antonio Atkins Sr., a 41-year-old black male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Atkins was immediately transported by Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue to Memorial Regional Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite all life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.
