On September 24, 2023, a shooting incident occurred in Lauderhill, Florida, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Brandon Spells and injuries to two other individuals. The Lauderhill Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 10 p.m. on University Drive, where they found Brandon Spells with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg, lying behind a business at 5001 N. University Dr..
