Vedner Jacsaint, a 32-year-old man, was tragically shot to death on November 14, 2020, at the Lauderhill Point apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when Jacsaint was found lying in a hallway by responding officers. He was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Grant, along with his cousin Weldon Carter, 23, planned and executed the murder. On the night of the incident, Jacsaint had been with Davenport until early morning. Upon returning to his apartment complex, Jacsaint called Davenport, but their conversation was abruptly cut off when he encountered Grant and Carter. Carter shot Jacsaint multiple times before the pair fled the scene. Grant then proceeded to his job at a coffee bar, acting as if nothing had happened.
Both Grant and Carter were arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The motive behind the killing was rooted in jealousy and anger, as Grant had recently discovered Davenport's relationship with Jacsaint and was upset about their plans to have a baby together. This tragic event marked the third shooting at the Lauderhill Point apartment complex in recent years, highlighting ongoing issues with violence and security at the location.
