On October 15, 2023, Marion County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a home on Southeast 52nd Avenue in Ocala, Florida, specifically in the Whispering Sands area. Upon arrival, they found two individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as 32-year-old Kevin Ray Russell and 60-year-old Sandy Kara Bobman.
