On December 21, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred outside a 7-Eleven store located at 6401 S. Chickasaw Trail in Orlando, Florida. The victim, 32-year-old Sean Anthony Daniels, was found by police responding to the shooting call around 12:15 p.m. Daniels had suffered a gunshot wound and, despite life-saving measures by officers and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sean Daniels was described as a loving father, devoted husband, and an Army service member.
His wife, Kio Daniels, witnessed the horrific incident, and the family is now dealing with the emotional and financial aftermath of his death.
Following the shooting, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Justin Junior Cadawan, fled the area before police arrived. However, detectives were able to locate and apprehend Cadawan on Friday, December 22, 2023. Cadawan is known to have been acquainted with the victim.
Cadawan has been charged with several offenses, including second-degree murder with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and shooting from a vehicle within 1,000 feet of another person. He is currently being held without bond.
The incident has left Sean Daniels' family, including his wife and children, to cope with the loss and prepare for the upcoming court case and celebration of life, while also managing the financial stress associated with these events. A fundraiser has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses and other related costs.
