On December 23, 2023, a tragic incident occurred at the Paddock Mall in Ocala, Florida, resulting in the death of 40-year-old David Nathaniel Barron. The shooting took place around 3:40 p.m. in a common area of the mall, just two days before Christmas during a busy holiday shopping period.

According to the Ocala Police Department, Barron was found shot to death in the mall. A woman was also injured in the incident, suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her leg. The shooting, ...
