Tommie Anderson III, a 33-year-old pizza delivery driver, was murdered in broad daylight on January 9, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred on Douglass Avenue, just south of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, shortly after Anderson had dropped off a pizza order.
According to the investigation, the suspects targeted Anderson because they saw the Domino’s sign on his car and believed he would be a lucrative target for robbery, seeking money.
However, Anderson was not wealthy and was working multiple jobs to support his family, including his two children.
The police have made three arrests in connection with Anderson's murder: Elijsha Wingfield, Marcus Williams, and Avianna Kerr Williams. All three suspects are charged with first-degree murder. At the time of their arrest, the suspects had three guns in their car and had no prior connection to Anderson.
Anderson's family has expressed deep sorrow and frustration over the senseless killing. His father, Tommie Anderson Jr., emphasized that his son was killed over nothing, as he was not rich and was working hard to support his family. Anderson had only started working as a pizza delivery driver two days before his murder and also worked as a nightwatchman in Riviera Beach.
The community where the crime occurred has expressed concerns about the high crime rate in the area. Residents noted that crimes are frequent in the neighborhood, despite its proximity to several churches and a school. The lack of safety in the area was highlighted by local residents, who feel that more needs to be done to address the ongoing crime issues.
