On March 24, 2024, a deadly shooting occurred outside Player's Sports Bar & Grill located at 5280 N. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale, Florida. The incident resulted in the death of 26-year-old DeAndre Major from Fort Lauderdale. Major was pronounced dead at the hospital due to the injuries he sustained from the shooting.
