Jostin Mirabile, a 23-year-old man, was killed on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred at 1128 Lake Victoria Drive, where Mirabile was found dead by deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) after a 911 call reported a shooting.
The investigation revealed that the killing was a result of a dispute over a dirt bike.
Mirabile and Tremayne Williams had been involved in stealing dirt bikes, with Williams helping Mirabile and storing the bikes in an apartment at Lake Victoria Drive. However, when Williams asked Mirabile if he could keep one of the dirt bikes, Mirabile refused.
This refusal led to a series of text messages between Williams and his accomplice, Keith Dawkins. In these messages, Williams expressed his intention to harm Mirabile, using the phrase "I gotta heaven him." Dawkins responded by saying he would "pull up with stick," which is a street term for a rifle. The messages indicated that they were planning to kill Mirabile.
On the day of the incident, a witness reported seeing a disagreement between Williams and Mirabile. During the argument, Mirabile pulled out a gun and fired a live round, but did not aim it at Williams. Williams then left the scene but returned and shot Mirabile, killing him. After the shooting, Williams fled the scene with Dawkins, who was waiting in a vehicle.
Both Tremayne Williams and Keith Dawkins were arrested and booked on counts of premeditated first-degree homicide and felon in possession of a firearm. Dawkins was arrested less than a week after the killing. The firearm used in the murder has not been recovered.
The investigation also revealed that the dirt bike at the center of the dispute was reported stolen on March 30. The PBSO's investigation and the arrest affidavit provided detailed evidence of the planning and execution of Mirabile's murder by Williams and Dawkins.
