On July 25, 2024, at approximately 10:52 a.m., officers in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, responded to reports of gunfire and a woman lying on the street at the intersection of 27th Street North and 59th Avenue North. Upon arrival, they found Leslie Torres Fernández, a 39-year-old Cuban woman, face down on the street with apparent gunshot wounds to her upper body. Despite attempts to save her life, Torres Fernández was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital. ...
