On August 17, 2024, a tragic shooting incident occurred in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, resulting in the death of 18-year-old Marion Harrison. The shooting took place around 5:05 a.m. in the 600 block of Cypress Creek Road, although some reports specify the location as the 600 block of Northwest 62nd Street.
During the incident, three males were found shot inside a vehicle, a black Honda Civic. The victims, including Marion Harrison, called 911 for help.
The released 911 calls capture the desperation and panic of the moment, with one of the victims pleading, "There’s been a shooting. There’s been a shooting," and another victim describing his injuries, saying, "I’ve been shot... everywhere."
Police and fire rescue crews responded quickly to the scene and transported all three shooting victims, along with a fourth person who was not injured by gunfire, to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, Marion Harrison did not survive his injuries.
The other two victims, who are in their 20s, remain hospitalized. The identities of these survivors have not been disclosed by the police.
The shooter fled the scene and remains at large. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident, but the motives and circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unclear. The public is urged to provide any information they may have, with the option to remain anonymous and potentially receive a reward of up to $5,000 through Broward County Crime Stoppers.
