On September 10, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Lakeland, Florida, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Alfredo “Freddie” Alfaro-Astello. The incident took place at Alfaro-Astello's residence on Fleming Avenue, where he was found dead in the front yard by deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office who responded to reports of gunshots around 10:07 a.m.
