On October 3, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at a home in Edgewater, Florida, resulting in the death of 40-year-old Monica Robarge. The incident was reported around 5:10 p.m. when deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at a residence off Liza Clinton Road.
Upon arrival, deputies found Monica Robarge fatally shot. Despite attempts by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation suggests that the shooting took place during a domestic dispute involving Robarge and her boyfriend, who is identified as the suspected shooter. According to reports, the boyfriend claimed he shot Robarge in self-defense during the altercation. He was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital but declined to speak further with detectives without an attorney present. As of the current update, he has not been charged.
There were no prior law enforcement contacts or reports of domestic violence involving the couple at the address. Robarge's next of kin arrived at the scene before detectives and were informed of the fatal incident.
