Jeffrey Leland Lowery, 23 years old, was last seen on November 12, 1981, in San Luis Obispo, California. Jeffrey had been suffering from severe depression, and on the day of his disappearance, his mother drove him to a mental health facility for treatment. Upon arriving at the facility, Jeffrey abruptly fled the car and was never seen again. At the time, he was wearing a light jacket, dark-colored t-shirt, blue jeans, and was without shoes or socks.
