On October 24, 2024, 14-year-old Marshaun Jones was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in the Marion Oaks subdivision of Marion County, Florida. The incident occurred in the 15000 block of SW 48th Avenue.

Marshaun Jones had recently moved to Ocala from Jacksonville, having been in the area for only about a week before his death. This sudden and tragic event has left his family and community in shock.
