On the morning of December 4, 2023, Timothy Ross, a 31-year-old Black male from Bloomfield, Connecticut, was shot and killed in a fatal daylight encounter. The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. in the 500 block of Bloomfield Avenue, near the busy intersection with Cottage Grove Road. Ross, a parent at the nearby CREC Museum Academy, had just been at the school. He was seated in his car when another vehicle pulled up, and an assailant fired multiple shots into his vehicle.
