The fatal incident occurred on March 23, 2024, during a large party at the Victory Grange event center on Tower Road. The evening, filled with the energy of young adults and juveniles, descended into turmoil when a fight broke out.
Witnesses reported that an altercation had occurred involving Martinez and the ex-boyfriend of his then-current
girlfriend. In the midst of this dispute, another individual was reportedly directed to attack Martinez. As Martinez stood against a wall near the escalating conflict, a teenager approached him, pulled out a handgun, and fired a single shot, striking him in the chest. The sound of the gunshot ignited panic, sending partygoers scrambling to flee the scene as more shots were fired.
