On March 23, 2024, Joseph Andres Martinez, a 19-year-old from Aurora, Colorado, was fatally shot at the Victory Grange event center, located at 2025 Tower Road in north Aurora. The incident occurred during a party at the event center, where multiple reports of gunshots were made to the police. Upon arrival, officers found Martinez with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, Martinez was pronounced dead at a local hospital less than an hour later.
