In the late hours of a Thursday night in Longmont, Colorado, a dispute among four men escalated into a fatal encounter that ended the life of 27-year-old Joshua Hill. On May 30, 2024, in the 4200 block of Hawthorne Place, at least two shots were fired, striking Hill and another man.
When Longmont police officers arrived at the scene around 11:30 p.m., they discovered Joshua Hill with a fatal gunshot wound.
The second man who was shot sustained an injury to his arm and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening wound. The Boulder County Coroner's Office later officially identified the deceased as Joshua Hill.
In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement officials began an investigation into the altercation that led to the deadly violence.
