In the late afternoon of a Saturday in Marianna, Arkansas, a burst of violence shattered the quiet, leaving two men dead and another wounded. On February 11, 2023, 59-year-old Arthur Hill of Forrest City was caught in the deadly encounter that unfolded on South Florida Street. He was a male. The incident, which drew a swift response from the Marianna Police Department, quickly escalated into a homicide investigation with the involvement of the Arkansas State Police.
Hill was transported
from the scene to the Forrest City Medical Center, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. Another man, 32-year-old Albert Dillard of Forrest City, was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead by the Lee County Coroner. A third individual, 32-year-old Davlon Taylor of Marianna, also sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the shooting led to a swift arrest. Two days after the incident, on February 13, 2023, the Arkansas State Police took 27-year-old Tyler Williams of Forrest City into custody. Williams is facing serious charges in connection with the deadly shooting, including two counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated robbery, and one count of first-degree battery. He was taken into custody by the Marianna Police Department as the legal process against him began, with the investigative file being handed over to the Lee County Prosecutor's Office.
