Independence Young, a 21-year-old from McGehee, Arkansas, lost his life to gun violence on December 3, 2023, in Wilmar, Arkansas. On that day, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Drew County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at the old Wilmar School located on North 5th Street. Upon arrival, they found two deceased men.
