Deputy Sheriff Justin Smith, a 60-year-old law enforcement officer, was fatally shot on January 2, 2024, while serving a warrant in Mountain View, Arkansas. The incident occurred when Smith attempted to arrest a suspect, Clinton Craig Hefton, 52, for a misdemeanor terroristic threatening charge at a home on the 300 block of Sawmill Road.
