In the winter of 2024, the community of Blytheville, Arkansas, was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 18-year-old Devontae Johnson. A Black male, Johnson was a resident of the city where his life was cut short on January 30th. On that Tuesday, he sustained a gunshot wound in an incident that also left another individual injured.
