On a tragic day in Malvern, Arkansas, Jacob Aaron Martin Sr., a 47-year-old man, was killed in a violent incident that also claimed the lives of his wife and daughter. The devastating event unfolded on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at their home on Pryor Drive, located west of Traskwood in Saline County. First responders were initially dispatched to the residence following a report of a structure fire.
Upon their arrival, a grim discovery was made. Authorities found the bodies of Jacob, his 53-year-old wife Dara Martin, and their 16-year-old daughter, Aleah Martin. All three victims had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The investigation into the triple homicide quickly led authorities to a person of interest.
A 15-year-old male from Saline County was taken into custody in connection with the deaths. He has since been charged as an adult with a string of serious offenses, including capital murder, arson, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. Known for his many talents, Jacob was skilled in leatherwork and auto mechanics, and was also a gifted musician and artist. He enjoyed the outdoors, often camping and spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother, two adult children, and two sisters.
