Roy Burton Sturgis, a 50-year-old resident of Kingsland, Arkansas, died on June 21, 2024, as a result of a mass shooting at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas. The shooting occurred at approximately 11:38 a.m. on the same day.

Sturgis was one of the four civilians who lost their lives in the incident. The other victims were Shirley Taylor, 62, Callie Weems, 23, and Ellen Shrum, 81. He was born on October 25, 1973, in Fordyce, Arkansas.
