In the early morning hours of July 6, 2024, the life of 17-year-old Brendon Curtis Berryhill, a male, was tragically cut short in Judsonia, Arkansas. The fatal encounter began around 3:30 a.m. at a Circle K convenience store near Highway 13. Surveillance footage from the location captured a confrontation between Berryhill and four men in an adjacent vehicle. As Berryhill attempted to drive away from the altercation, he was shot through an open window.
A second suspect then fired another shot, striking him again.
Despite his injuries, Berryhill managed to drive away from the convenience store. His journey ended on Salem Church Road, where authorities believe he was trying to reach someone he knew before he succumbed to his wounds. A White County sheriff's deputy on patrol later made a grim discovery, finding Berryhill's body lying in the roadway. Initially, it appeared he had been struck by a vehicle, but upon investigation, it was determined that he had died from gunshot wounds to his upper body prior to being hit.
The four suspects fled the scene, sparking a multi-agency pursuit involving the Judsonia Police Department, Wynne Police Department, Marion Police Department, Crittenden County Sheriff's Office, and the Arkansas State Police. The chase concluded in Crittenden County when state police performed a tactical vehicle intervention. At the time, law enforcement was unaware of the homicide. The driver, Jayden Solang, 18, was taken into custody for traffic offenses, while the other three passengers were identified and released. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a firearm believed to be the murder weapon.
Following the discovery of the weapon and further investigation, all four suspects were apprehended. The individuals arrested in connection with Brendon Berryhill's death were identified as Jayden Solang, 18, of Cordova, Tennessee; Johnathan Arrington, 20, of Memphis, Tennessee; Kydavien Green, 18, of Millington, Tennessee; and J'vion Todd, 18, of Memphis, Tennessee. Arrington, Green, and Todd were arrested in Tennessee and held at the Shelby County Detention Center, while Solang remained in custody at the Crittenden County Detention Center. They face multiple charges, including capital murder and terroristic acts.
