Dontae Michael Carroll, a 15-year-old from Worthington, West Virginia, passed away on September 2, 2023. His death was a result of gun violence, which occurred in Fairmont, West Virginia.

Dontae is survived by his parents, Martin Brooks of Shinnston and Whitney Ridenour (Carroll), as well as his stepfather Dale of Fairmont.
