On January 8, 2023, 16-year-old Jacqueline “Jacky” Nuñez was fatally shot near a dirt road approximately four miles north of Circleville in Piute County, Utah. The incident occurred when Nuñez attempted to flee from her boyfriend, Francisco Daniel Aguilar, who was 17 at the time, to get into a friend's car.
