On the evening of January 26, 2024, in Davenport, Iowa, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 26-year-old Jevin Edward Gittings, a Caucasian male. Police were dispatched to a residence on Volquardsen Avenue around 9:00 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jevin Gittings deceased, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The initial investigation quickly identified a suspect at the scene: Jevin's own brother and roommate,
41-year-old Wade S. Gittings. According to police reports, an argument between the two brothers preceded the fatal shooting. A criminal complaint was filed against Wade Gittings, and he was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.
Wade Gittings was taken into custody and is being held at the Scott County Jail. He later appeared in court where further details emerged.
