Sharon Ann Jones, aged 79, lost her life to gun violence on February 15, 2024, in Moorland, Iowa. She was found dead in the living room of a residence in Moorland.

The incident involved another fatality; Eric A. Jones, aged 55, was also found dead at the same location, in a bedroom. Both Sharon and Eric died from gunshot wounds, according to the investigators.
