In the early morning hours of Monday, September 30, 2024, the life of 21-year-old Hispanic male Miguel Angel Martinez-Luna was tragically cut short in his Le Mars, Iowa, home. Police responded to reports of a disturbance and possible gunshots at approximately 2:30 a.m. at an apartment located at 37 3rd Avenue NW. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Martinez-Luna with wounds consistent with being shot; he was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical examiner.
